Doodle For Google

Ben, Dragon Slayer

My piece of art shows that St George is still remembered by lots of people, he was very brave to slay the dragon in England. He is a man of bravery for what he has done for England. I have created Dragon Slayer for people to remember St George.

What I Learnt This Week

This week I have learnt how to use place value in multiplication. I was watching a video to help me to understand at first, then I moved on to some practice work. For E.G. 4 x 60 = 240
I know that 4 x 6 = 24 so then 4 x 60 is ten times 4 x 6 so then the answer must be ten times 24 so the answer is 240.

NYLD After The Trip

What did you think of NYLD 2015. Give your opinion and reasons why you hold these opinions (at least 4 sentences).

NYLD was really enjoyable, waking up at 5am to start a long bus journey. Getting out to go into the big theatre. Being introduced and a warm welcome by the hosts. Then the first speaker came out. All that I could hear was people yelling and clapping.

Who was your favourite speaker and why? (Describe in at least 4 sentences).

Jamie Mcdell - because she inspired me to go by my own look not someone else's look. Also she sang two songs along with everyone else singing. I think her message was to not be afraid of who you really are. Also don't be scared to dress how you dress.

What have you learnt about being a leader? (At least 4 sentences).

Help people when they are stuck. To take care of people and your learning. Manage your own behaviour. Don't be afraid of who you are.

How could you use this learning here at school? (At least 4 sentences)

By staying on task and keeping my head down. If someone is stuck and I know how to help them then I will help. If someone falls over in the playground help them back up and ask if they are ok. Dress how you want not how someone else wants you to.

Action points - something I am going to work on (a goal) from NYLD:

Changing the world and making it a better place

My favourite quotes were (remember to say who said them)

Chris Jupp - We can make the world a better place.

C.O.P.E. In class

The other day when I was doing a wafer cutting activity (we were learning to cut a shape into an equal pieces) at first it was simple cutting the circles and squares then Mr. Anderson gave us a harder shape a rectangle, that is when it got hard. Me and my class mate Jack.C were persisting and not giving up, we sat there for about 10 minutes trying to work out how to cut the rectangle. In the end we figured it out.

Infrencing

What is Infrencing?

Infrencing is when you pick the clues out of the text and put them together to help guess what happens next. For an example: Thicky and Nobby find an old discarded bike near the railway tracks. Nobby thinks the bike is rubbish; Thicky, however, can see "potential" and they hatch a plan: each rider puts twenty cents in a jar, and the person who dares to ride the bike to the bottom of the hill, wins the loot. Thinking themselves pretty clever, Thicky and Nobby think they have it all sewn up, but will there be a surprise?

I inference that there is going to be a surprise.
