What I Have Learnt This Week

Subtracting using place value

This week I learnt how to subtract using place value. At first I wasn't sure how to subtract using place value, then Mr. A called some of us down to a teacher workshop ( a teacher workshop is when the teacher calls us down to the mat so we can learn about a specific goal we need to work on ) and our learning goal was W.A.L.T  ( we are learning to ) subtract using place value. Mr. A then gave us a number question that we had to guess how to use place value in subtraction, after one minuet of guessing Mr. A told us how to solve it.

How To Subtract Using Place Value

Say you had the question 256 - 123 = 133
First you would go 256 - 120 = 136. Then you would do 136 - 3 = 133 so then 133 is you answer.

Here is one for you to solve using the place value in subtraction.
427 - 293 =

Comment your answer.

The Incredible Hulk

The Incredible Hulk

Going from white to a disgusting green.Huff HUff HUFf HUFF, hulks bones popping in and out of the sockets getting bigger and bigger. A big, mean, green incredible fighting machine, growling and standing in the boxing arena. Hulk punches his opponent in the face, everyone flees in fear.

ROOOAAARRR hulk howls at the top of his lungs. Vanes straining, popping out everywhere. Sweating like a demon hulks teeth grinding and fists clutching tight as a padlock. He starts shaking while his muscles are flexed and let's out another great big howl, ROOOAAARRR this time as loud as a tsunami. His face screws up like a piece of paper screwed up. The massive green monster feels like picking a building up and just chucking it away. “HULK SMASH!!!” Hulk smashes everything in his path.

Crash

“AHHHH!” I yell as I fly over my handlebars. Slipping and sliding down the muddy grass I scream “Ouch! Ahhh!” blood rushing down my arms and legs. Skin peeled while stinging.

What I Learnt This Week

This week I learnt how to draw a plan view. A plan view is when you draw a 3D model in 2D. Say you were making a cube model and wanted to draw it in plan view you would have to draw it in 2D.

Len Lye Center

We were walking down the street to meet a man named Chris, he welcomed us to the new Len Lye Center. The first thing that came to my mind about the tall metallic building was wow, this building set out is amazing.  As we entered the building I saw how high the building is I think the Len Lye Center is about 50 feet high.

My favourite thing about the art gallery is the universe, the universe is a big, shiny and metallic ring. The universe is controlled by electromagnets. What are electromagnets? You may be asking, electromagnets are magnets that only turn on when electricity goes through them. The universe has a balance platform with electromagnets along it so the universe moves. Why is the universe called the universe? The universe also has a ball attached to elastic and string at the wooden ball hits the universe and makes an empty sounding noise.

I think Len Lye's an arty creative man. Len Lye's art style is amazing, crazy, creative and different to most other art types.

Ben, Dragon Slayer

My piece of art shows that St George is still remembered by lots of people, he was very brave to slay the dragon in England. He is a man of bravery for what he has done for England. I have created Dragon Slayer for people to remember St George.
